How do I get to The Continental?
We are located at the corner of Franklin and Huron Streets in downtown Buffalo. Driving directions from your location are available from Mapquest or Yahoo! Maps. You can also download a map of downtown to your PDA.
From the East via NY State Thruway I-90 (Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, etc)
- Take I-90 through the toll barrier.
- Take 90W to exit 51W to Route 33W.
- Stay on 33W until it ends at the traffic light on Genesee Street.
- Turn right.
- Stay to the right and follow Chippewa Street to Franklin Street.
- Turn Left and look for our marquee on the right at 212 Franklin Street.
From the West via NY State Thruway I-90 (Cleveland, etc)
- Take I-90 through the Lackawana Toll Barrier.
- Stay on 90E to Exit 53 to I-190.
- Take I-190 to the Church Street exit.
- Go through two traffic lights to Delaware Avenue.
- Turn left on to Delaware.
- Ggo throught the traffic circle 180 degrees and stay on Delaware Avenue.
- Go through three traffic lights to Huron Street and turn right.
- Turn left at the next light (Franklin Street); our marquee is on the left at 212 Franklin Street.
From Canada via the Peace Bridge
- From the Peace Bridge get on I-190 South to the Niagara Street exit.
- Turn right on Niagara Street.
- Look for Huron Street on your left about 1/2 mile from the exit.
- Turn left then go through two traffic lights to Franklin Street.
- Turn left at Franklin Street; our marquee is on the left at 212 Franklin Street.
From Canada via the Rainbow and Queenston bridges
- Take I-190 South over both sets of Grand Island bridges.
- Stay on I-190 South through the Black Rock Tolls (US $.50) to the Niagara Street exit.
- Turn right on Niagara Street.
- Look for Huron Street on your left about 1/2 mile from the exit.
- Turn left then go through two traffic lights to Franklin Street.
- Turn left at Franklin Street; our marquee is on the left at 212 Franklin Street.
Where can I park?
There is a pay lot on the corner of Franklin and Huron Streets, about 100 feet from our doors. Additional parking is sometime available on Franklin Street and W. Mohawk Street.
Where can I buy tickets?
The calendar listing will tell you where you can buy tickets in advance. Ticketmaster handles all online and almost all advance ticket sales for Continental shows.

Is The Continental an all-ages venue?
The Continental hosts all-ages events, 18 & over shows, and 21 & over shows. The calendar listing for the show explicitly notes which shows are open to patrons under 21. In almost all cases, you will need some form of picture ID, such as a valid NYS Learner's Permit or License. The ID must have your photo and date of birth.
Do you have pictures of previous shows?
Yes, some shows are documented in our Archives. If you have pictures of a show you want to share, please contact us. In most cases, we're more than happy to put them on our website.

What is the venue like?
The Continental has two distinct spaces: a 550 person concert space with bar downstairs and a dancefloor, bar, and DJ booth upstairs. The downstairs mostly standing-only with limited seating available at the bar. The upstairs has booths. All kinds of bands, from metal to experimental electronic to straight-ahead rock, play The Continental. Our patrons are equally diverse on any given night.
Can I tape the show?
Taping is allowed only with permission from artist(s). Set-up cannot interfere with standing room or patrons and is subject to the discretion of the artist and The Continental management.
Can I take pictures?
Unless specifically prohibited, you are welcome to take pictures at shows. Please respect the artists and other audience members while taking pictures.
Is there a dress code?
Good question. We'll ask Frank about that but chances are he's not going to like your wardrobe.
